When you first read a news article, find out what the 5 W's are
Who (People) is in the article or who are the main people the article is talking about? What is the main event or issue? Where (Place) is the event in the article talking place at? When (Date) did the issue or event happening? Why is this important to the people of that community or of the world? Choose one of these three articles and read it. Then apply the 5 W's to the article. Articles - "Fires in California," "Floods in Vietnam" or "Fire Tornado" Be sure to select the level of the article that fits your skills. If these articles are too easy try an article from this page.
